Ontem andei à procura de mais blogs sobre Lisboa - achei que os que já tinha encontrado não podiam ser os únicos! Encontrei mais alguns, muitos dos quais já não são actualizados há meses ou anos. E depois encontrei dois, extremamente positivos que, surpresa, são escritos por estrangeiros e em inglês! Não vou refilar sobre isto, mas bolas, já devia estar à espera.
Go Lisbon, um dos blogs que descobri e de que gosto muito, ilustra perfeitamente o que já penso desde que saí de Lisboa - os Portugueses só dão valor a Portugal quando vão viver noutros países. Mas não faz mal - mais vale tarde que nunca, certo? Gosto muito do Go Lisbon - há imensos sitios na Cidade Branca onde agora quero muito ir por causa de artigos neste blog, sítios que parecem giríssimos e que abriram nos últimos oito anos (os meus anos de ausência). O autor do blog é Mario Fernandes, que cresceu em Nova York mas vive em Lisboa desde 2003. Os artigos são interessantes e uma óptima referência do que acontece em Lisboa. Há imensos posts que vão ficar nos meus Favoritos, como lista de sitios para visitar este ano. O site inteiro é extremamente informativo, principalmente as secções turísticas sobre hotéis, etc.
Outro blog extraordinário é o In Love With Lisbon, escrito pela Lily, que vive em Manchester (ha!), mas é visitante habitual de Lisboa. O blog dela é lindissimo e extremamente comovente - ela realmente adora Lisboa, e até me envergonha de quando me queixo da cidade. Embora adore todos os posts, este é particularmente especial, e acho que deve ser o primeiro a ser lido. Ela expressa um amor pela cidade que eu nem consigo pôr em palavras, é muito especial.
O terceiro blog nesta têm um cariz especial para mim, porque embora seja muito recente é escrito por um dos meus melhores amigos. O A. mudou-se para Lisboa no último dia do ano passado, e pediu em casamento uma das minhas melhores amigas de Lisboa. Ele também é de Manchester, já o conheço há anos, e, como podem calcular, tive uma mãozinha no ínicio da relação :) Nós que estávamos tão tristes por o deixar em Manchester, e ele mudou-se para Lisboa antes de nós! O blog dele chama-se Novo na Cidade, e se ele o continuar a actualizar, acho que vai dar uma perspectiva interessante de alguem que ouviu falar de Lisboa durante anos (até à exaustão, coitado - as nossas ondas de saudades são insuportáveis), e que deixou tudo para trás para começar uma vida nova numa cidade (mais ou menos) estranha. Ele faz anos hoje, por isso parabéns!

Yesterday I went looking for more blogs about Lisbon - I thought the ones I had found could not be the only ones! I found a few more, most of which haven't been updated in months or years. I then found two extremely positive ones, which, surprise, are written by foreigners and in English! I'm not going to get cranky about this, but damn, I should have seen this coming.
Go Lisbon, one of these blogs, perfectly illustrates what I've been thinking since I've left Lisbon - that the Portuguese only value Portugal when they leave for other countries. That's ok, though - better late than never, right? I really like Go Lisbon - there are a lot of places in the White City that I'd like to visit because of articles in this blog, places that seem really interesting that have opened in the last eight years (my years of absence). This blog's author is Mario Fernandes, who grew up on NY but has lived in Lisbon since 2003. The articles are interesting and are a great reference to what's happening in Lisbon. There are a lot of posts that I've bookmarked, as a list of places to visit this coming year. The whole website is extremely informative, especially the tourist sections about hotels, etc.
Another extraordinary blog is In Love With Lisbon, written by Lily, who lives in Manchester (ha!), but is a regular visitor to Lisbon. Her blog is absolutely beautiful and extremely touching - she really does love Lisbon, and makes me ashamed of myself when I complain about the city. Although I love all her posts, this one is particularly special, and I think it's the first you should read. She expresses a love for the city that I can't even put into words, and her blog is very very special.
The third blog on this list has a special place in my heart, because although it's very new, it's written by one of my best friends. A. moved to Lisbon on the 31st of December, and is now engaged to one of my best friends in Lisbon. He's also from Manchester, I've known him for years, and, as you can imagine, I had a little to do with their relationship :) We were so sad to be leaving him behind in Manchester, and he moved to Lisbon before we did! His blog is called Novo na Cidade (New in the City), and if he keeps updating it, I think it'll provide an interesting perpective of someone who's been hearing about Lisbon for years (to the point of exhaustion, poor thing - our waves of saudade are unbearable), and who left everything behind to start a new life in a (more or less) strange city. It's also his Birthday today, so Happy Birthday!

É DoutoramentO, Aliana, e a minha educação universitária tem sido em Inglaterra, por isso existe algum enferrujamento. Já não escrevo blogs em Português faz vários anos.

só lá estive uma vez que um amigo levou-me e já tentei fazer lá a minha última festa de aniversário sem sucesso lol
pah, não é nada doutro mundo, tem uma boa vista e tal mas acho que a curiosidade daquilo reside no facto de ser tão restrito. vais lá numa de perceber o porquê :o

Aga, pareceu-me! Embora por cá todos os bares e discotecas tenham filas à porta (se não tiverem, ninguem quer entrar (!), acho que em Lx as pessoas não estão para isso.
Há muitos bares em terraços agora em Lisboa, mal posso esperar ;)
